Based in Dublin, might you have any recommendations for where to get Insulin Resistance measured/tested?

Most major hospitals can do a serum insulin and glucose to work out a HOMA-IR score.

I love reading it’s harder to get the steps in bad weather but have to do more walking about the house. Find the information great. Trying not to have sugary things. So it’s the little things Tks Paddy

Interesting... My father is at 9.8 mmol/L, 62y.o. and low B/P, plus active lifestyle and good diet. That puts someone on the 50% reduction. Is there a need for statin drugs in that case? They provide mg/dL not, mmol/L I had to convert.

Always best that he have that conversation with his doctor. Lots of factors at play and I cannot make individual medical recommendations here.

You mention “subtract your HDL from your total cholesterol”. So what number should we be looking for to be a “good” number?
