Well, my 102-year-old grandmother didn't choose her parents well. Father died at 46 of lung cancer. Mother at 76 from a cardiac arrest. But your point before this is more poignant: about asking centenarians their longevity secrets, becuase they don't offer legit answers. My Grandma Kay would often say, "I never smoked and didn't drink," which is only partly true. The funniest things come out of a centenarians mouth, when they are put on the spot. 😀

A great example of the difference between odds and guarantees. We can only influence odds. Even people with all the advantages can suffer a bad outcome. And vice versa. It's just unlikely. I think most centenarians have no idea why they have lived so long, which is completely fair given that scientific researchers struggle to answer that question also.
